While the main bases are covered in terms of common expansions, including Cats & Dogs, University and Seasons, there are still many things that The Sims 3 did better and many more that The Sims 4 is the king of. The only benefit is Trading Cards and having the game on your Steam profile, also you can buy it for cheap on Sale, thanks GabeN.ĮA also could have at least given us achievements to at least show they care about the Steam platform, but no they didn't. The Sims 4 is now the best-selling and longest-running base game of the franchise but there are still some gaps in its content. It's basically just the Origin game, so now I've got 2 versions The Sims 4 on Origin. Unfortunately you are not buying The Sims 4 on Steam, instead you are just buying an Origin code for the game which is activated when you first launch the game.

Yes, the Sims 1 was better than the Sims 2 because it had some vestige of difficulty and was less buggy, Sims 2 was better than Sims 3 because it had more features that didn't take a year to load and you could change households without dropping ambitions, and Sims 3 was better than Sims 4 because it had features besides just sims not stupidly getting stuck in entryways, such as pools. For lots of players, The Sims 3 ’s expansions have the edge over The Sims 4’ s.

The worlds in these games are broken up into smaller neighborhoods, much like Sims 4 is today, and not the open. Unfortunately I cannot recommend the steam edition because in typical EA fashion they force users to use their terrible Origin. Both are very different than the PC version.
